SEAI Grants Eligibility and Criteria
The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) provides grants of up to €1,800 for solar PV systems. The grant amount varies based on the size of the system and specific eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Criteria
- Home Age:
Grants are available for homes built before 2021. - System Size:
The grant amount is proportional to the size of the solar PV system being installed. - Professional Installation:
The system must be installed by a registered and approved contractor.
Conditions and Requirements
- BER Assessment:
A post-installation Building Energy Rating (BER) assessment is required. - Proper Documentation:
All relevant paperwork must be submitted for grant approval.
VAT Exemption
A recent government initiative has made solar panel installations VAT-free. This further reduces the overall cost, providing an additional financial incentive to switch to solar energy.
