Shevlin Engineering comprises of a 40,000 ft2 premises in Belmullet, Co. Mayo. They operate a technically advanced fabrication workshop for the production of Structural Steel to an EXC 3 class standard EN1090 and offer a wide range of non structural services including stainless steel handrails, balustrades, monuments and bollards.
Darren Buckley met with Caolann Shevlin and learnt about the challenges that Shevlin engineering wanted to overcome such as high energy prices and a need to begin their sustainability journey. AEI solution was to install a 117kw system that would generate 40% of their annual electricity needs. As Irelands only company able to offer an output guarantee they were delighted to have the reassurance that their investment would return the 33% that had been promised generating over 102,000kw per annum. Furthermore, and importantly Shevlin Engineering will also save 24T of CO2 emissions per annum.
